Current Study

I am interested in how synaptic/non-synaptic cues and neurotrophic factors from other cell types, such as excitatory neurons, influence the maturation of interneurons and their integration into functional circuits during development.  I work to identify specific connections and factors important for the development of particular subtypes of interneurons, and how they evolve during the first postnatal weeks, critical for establishing their mature functions.
